Dr. Mohammed K. Al-Ageel

I graduated from the McGill University emergency medicine program in Montreal, Canada, in 2015. Following this, I pursued advanced training, completing a fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of British Columbia in 2017.

My career has spanned both emergency medicine and critical care, with experience in a range of clinical settings across Canada and Saudi Arabia, including both academic institutions and rural environments. Currently, I serve as an assistant professor at King Khalid University Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where I am dedicated to advancing the fields of emergency and critical care medicine.

My academic interests lie primarily in cardiac arrest and resuscitation medicine. I am particularly passionate about “bringing upstairs medicine downstairs,” which focuses on applying the best practices from critical care directly into emergency settings to improve patient outcomes. In addition, I am deeply involved in efforts to enhance care processes and reduce avoidable patient harm across medical environments.

There is significant work to be done to elevate the standards of both emergency and critical care in Saudi Arabia, and I am committed to being part of that progress.
