Prof. Mohammed Alshahrani earned his MBBS degree from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia and obtained Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine from McMaster University in Canada. He also completed a Masters in Medical Education from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Dr. Alshahrani serves as the Hospital Director and Vice Dean of Hospital Affairs at King Fahd Hospital of the University-AlKhobar. He is a professor at the College of Medicine in Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam. Since 2009, he has worked as a consultant in the Emergency and Critical Care departments and he currently holds the position of Department Chairman of Critical Care Units.
Prof. Alshahrani is the Chairman of the Critical Care Scientific Council at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and Co-Chair of Guidelines at the Saudi Critical Care Society. He is a panel member for various critical care clinical practice guidelines and has published over 80 scientific papers in high-impact factor journals such as JAMA and NEJM. He has also contributed to multiple publications in national and international journals. He has led clinical trials at KFHU and is recognized as one of the top 10 highest publishing authors in 2022, both nationally and at the IAU College of Medicine in Saudi Arabia, according to the World Scientist and University Rankings 2022-AD Scientific Index. Additionally, he is the first Saudi national to hold a full professorship title in Emergency Medicine in Saudi Arabia.
